Has anyone received any emails from the candidates’ campaigns?

I received some emails last week from the Obama campaign and received some from the McCain campaign recently. But I didn’t sign up for anything on either site. I was just wondering who else got any emails from them. And how do they get your email address?

They were just talking about getting out to vote and get campaign buttons and mugs and things.

But I knew where to put the McCain emails (in the trash), so I was just wondering who else got any.

I somehow have ended up with Obama emails. I’ve never received McCain emails (and I’m sure by now you know thats who I support). I too am curious…

I did. I also signed up to volunteer for Obama’s campaign so I get phone calls when help is needed.

Yes I receive emails from the Obama campaign all the time and I get text messages from them on my cell phone. I signed up for them on his website.

I have gotten ones from Obama, but i signed up for those. Haven’t gotten emails from McCain, but we did get stuff in the mail.

I get them but I signed up.

If you put your email address any where on the net, on a political message board for example, the internet crawlers would have picked it up and those crawlers make mailing lists to sell and rent.

I signed up on Obamas site to offer support. I get emails from them all the time. If you went to any site to put in an online poll vote, they could have gotten your email that way. Otherwise, I am sure both campaigns buy email addresses as do corporations for advertising purposes.
