Is Yahoo taking their advertising campaign too far?

email campaign
Jedi Master Allergic 2 Stupidity asked:

It may just be me, but i noticed in the lower right corner of a question there are search results to take you to merchandise site. Flash ads, banner ad in the question and now search results to merchandisers??? whats next, are they going to start an email spam campaign??? are they going to send me an email for junk that I don’t want or need ever time I answer a question???
its 10:48 at the time of posting. lets see how long it takes Yahoo to remove this. since it questions their ability to follow their OWN guidelines…
yes munkey but then again I’m not advertising a merchandise site or promoting Star Wars anything other than my own love of the stories…

It’s great when you ask a question about burping or ******* and then seeing what pops up over there–

    BUY QUALITY BURPS FROM EBAY!!

From years of practice with the Internet, I’m pretty good at ignoring the ads flashing here and there but, you’re right, it’s a bit annoying to be searching the archives for something and have Yahoo try to shove ads down your throat.

However, I can live with it as long as they don’t do the annoying ads with sound! I turned my speakers off whenever I came here during the time that annoying The Gap ad was on. Agh!! Ads on the Internet with sound are an abomination against God and man!
