Why am I still being solicited for campaign donations?

email campaign
Lyle G asked:

To get the scoop from both perspectives, I signed up at McCain’s and Obama’s sites and got email from both for months now.
Obama’s campaign is STILL asking me for money. (10November08)
Seriously, ***?
Still getting solicitations today (12 November) ONLY from one “side.”

Well he’s the one that promised you a tax cut but now he wants you to pay him first.

I don’t believe you. I donated to the campaign but I haven’t been solicited.

It is up to you whether to send money or not. They have a right to ask (even if its seems a little backward).

There is a marvelous invention call spam blockers. Your email client probably already has one.

I believe there are restrictions on solicitations once a campaign is over. If a campaign ends up in the hole, a candidate can solicit funds to “Help me pay my campaign debts,” but he can’t solicit money for the campaign itself.

The best thing to do is probably to block his email site so the solicitations go directly into your trash bin. The Obama campaign had such a huge list of email addresses that it may be taking some time to filter the messages to make sure it doesn’t delete emails with contributions.

They figure if people were dumb enough to vote for him they are dumb enough to keep sending money!.LOL

Because he will be running again in four years. All candidates do this. It is not a Republican or Democrat thing. Bush did the same thing and so did the first term president before him.
