Where can I find good, targeted email lists?

I am the author of a business book that’s specifically targeted to women, home-based business owners. It’s already considered a business bestseller. After the holidays I’m interested in doing a promotional campaign to make my book a bestseller on Amazon.com.

To do this I have to find people with good, current email DB lists (can be a few hundred to thousands) that contains a lot of women, home-based business owners.

Of course there’s a win-win benefit for those list owners who decide to work with me.

Any ideas where I can locate people with good lists.

All the best,

Denise Michaels

In reply to Cassandra’s question - the name of my book is “Testosterone-Free Marketing” and you can get a personally autographed copy at http://www.tfmbook.com It’s a myth-shattering book for thousands of women who’ve read it and created more cash flow in their businesses.

All the best,

Hi Spamdex:

I’ve contacted list brokers in the past and amazingly they don’t have lists of “women, home-based business owners.” Surprising, but true. They have “home-based business owners” and they have “women” but not both to make it more specific.

Plus, they “seed” their lists so that if you send more than one email - it’s a problem since you’re renting the list for one time only. With an Amazon push you send a series of 7-8 emails so that doesn’t quite cut the mustard.

What I need to find are people with a site and an ezine for example that goes out to several thousand people. Or, a top level MLMer with a big email list.

I can’t actually use their list. The emails have to come from the owner of the list - but I write them. I’ve watched very closely how other authors I know closely do this and generally list brokers would be an excellent answer but not in this particular situation.

thanks much, Spamdex.

NO CAMPAIGN GEAR ALLOWED AT POLLS ~?

HI EVERYBODY,
I just got an email telling me something that I wasn’t even aware of:

There is a LAW AGAINST WEARING ANYTHING LIKE:
Campaign shirts, logos, hats, ties, pins, anything that has either
Candidate’s name on it, including teeshirts. YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY FROM VOTING IF YOU WEAR THEM.

Please note that this law is presently on the books, but normally not
really made a big deal out of, UNTIIL the Democrats decided that our
polls were better off with their bully police that in years past were reported as being intimidating and rude.
there are so many new, first-time voters on board this year; many do not realize this law is valid and could be turned away from voting.

So please leave these items at home, go to the polls and vote for
the person you feel is most experienced to handle difficult times.
AND BE SURE TO TELL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS NOT TO
WEAR ANY OF THESE CAMPAIGN ITEMS. They may not be familiar
with this law.

Personally, I don’t think the Democrats or anyone they select, should be allowed anywhere near the voting booths, because their best friend,
the ACORN “community organizer” group (that Obama was the previous lawyer for, has worked for, is close friends with and who is campaigning for Obama for President) has had employees from every Acorn office, in every State they are in, for VOTER FRAUD; they keep registering dead people, imaginary people, and people in jail who are not eligible to vote. In one Acorn office they found over 1400 fraud registrations ready to go; they have employees paying fines and in jail for these felony offenses.
THE WORST THING IS THAT when John McCain got to Washington, the fight was because Obama’s Democrat cronies put millions of dollars in earmark special interest giveaways into the bailout bill. TWENTY PERCENT of what you would get back on the bailout deal, would have been diverted over to ACORN, yep the same one indicted for voter fraud. Democrats can’t even do one piece of emergency legislation without hiding within it millions of dollars to friends of theirs. WASHINGTON NEEDS TO GET CLEANED UP. Since Obama got $500,000.00 from Fannie and Freddie, I doubt very much HE wants it cleaned up - Michelle would kill him if he took that kind of cut in pay.

Question:
DO YOU THINK that the poll police should turn people away, or just
make them take the hat or pin off before entering the building?

Email Marketing Campaigns- low cost recommendations?

I am evaluating email marketing companies for my business newsletter. It seems Constant Contact is the most well-known but I’m trying to find one that’s more like $5/mo. for 1,000 contacts. I am using www.talkwaremedia.com ($4.50/mo for 1,5000 contacts) and it’s ok but I find the newsletter creation somewhat un-user-friendly and I find the contact database fairly confusing. Anyone have experience w/ a good and low cost company? Thanks!
I work for a direct sales company and I do have my own customer list… currently about 100 people but I add to it monthly.

Obama “Facts” sent in email True?

I just got this in my email. How many know of or heard of this or can prove or disapprove it? I’m just wondering how he got so far so fast. I took the liberty of editing out some of the personal comments.

THE EMAIL:
About six months ago, I started thinking ‘where did the money come from for Obama’. I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama’s life. Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California . He is very open about his two years at Occidental where he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, still did not apply himself to his studies. ‘Barry’ - (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan .

During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made ’round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia , next Hyderabad in India , three weeks in Karachi , Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s
family.

My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they were in college. When he came back he started school at olumbia University in New York .

It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia ? It’s not cheap to say the least! Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia , he went to Chicago to work as a Community organizer for $12,000 a year. Why go ? Why not New York ? He was lready living in New York .

By ‘chance’ he met Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria , and a real estate developer in Chicago . Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association’. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School . Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School ? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans?

After Law school, he went back to Chicago . Rezko offered him a job,
which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what –They represented Rezar’ which is Rezko’s firm. Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago .

In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with ’seed money’ for his U.S. Senate race.
In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price.

The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was ichele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first.
Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz , Iran !

Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley, advisor to Obama, was ’sacked’ after the press found out he was having regular contacts with ‘Hamas’, which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran . This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq , he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will ‘Take care of things’.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that were born in Pakistan ? They are in charge of all those ’small’ Internet campaign contributions for Obama.

Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on ‘This Week’ with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, ‘My Muslim faith’. When questioned, he stated ‘he made a mistake’.
Some mistake!

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven’t all of our ‘intelligent’ members of the press been reporting this? END OF EMAIL.

wow…
Thanks Legal, and Sage for the link! Swizz-hole and some of the rest of you can bite me! You didn’t “answer” squat.

Email list management for marketing?

I’ve got a campaign running and I would like to set up a list to collect e-mails from subscribers and allow me to download it into an excel table of email addresses.

Are there any free / low cost software or (preferably) online list management websites that you can recommend? I’ve tried searching on Google but I’m not sure what search terms to use.

Here’s what I would like to happen:

1) subscribers visit a website to leave their contact details to sign up to my newsletter alerts

2) I visit the website and download the emails of the subscribers into an excel file.

3) I upload the excel contacts into my existing email software to get in touch with my subscribers.

John Kerry just sent me an email?

“You chose the winning script in our Roadblock Republican Radio Contest. Now, it’s up to you to air it.”
[...]
“So go here to make a contribution and turn up the heat on the Roadblock Republicans.”
[...]
“Only you can guarantee that this heartfelt, powerful message - this script from Edwin Walker in Tennessee - gets heard by voters and gets through to the Roadblock Republicans:”

Does it sound like somebody is trying to coin and promote a bumper-sticker phrase to make excuses for the fact that the democrat controlled Congress has done nothing that they promised during the campaign season?

Can you think of any other bumper-sticker slogans?

How about “Dead-end Democrats” or “Shell-game Senators”?
