Did McCain really drop his entire campaign staff and is this a good move?
In a startling move that he hopes might energize his stumbling campaign, John McCain announced that he will no longer use advisors.
“I was spending more time separating myself from their comments than I was listening to their advice,” said McCain, acting as his own press secretary who he had just fired minutes before. “And (top economic advisor Phil) Gramm’s ‘nation of whiners,’ ‘only a mental recession’ comments, were the straws that broke the camel’s back. Look, when I said that ‘Phil Gramm doesn’t speak for me. I speak for me,’ I realized it would just save time if I actually did that.”
In a blind email sent to his entire staff, McCain wrote, “My friends, it is with deep regret and deeper gratitude for your dedication, hard work and friendship, that I accept your resignation that I expect on my desk by the end of the day.”

He only dropped you from his list. Don’t feel sorry. The unemployment check will still come.

McCain has changes staff 3 times already. No one can find a message that Americans will believe.

This might help McCain’s campaign if he got rid of the likes of Charlie Black and Phil Gramm.

Well, if he plans to have advisors if he makes it to the White House, I hope he does a better job of picking them than he did picking these.
Sorry, but I have to go count my money to determine if it is mental recession or a real one.

No, this is not the case. One of my best friends has worked for him for years and has been on the campaign staff since the beginning of this campaign. He and all of his colleagues are still gainfully employed.
Do you have any sources for your claims??

Mr. Mccain’s campaign is not stumbling if you look at the latest polls. I beleive he needs to surround himself with positive people who will no longer treat him like an underdog!!!

He can’t do much worse without them although, I hear he and Obama are tied in the polls. He has always been more authentic when he spoke from the heart instead of trying to conform to someone else’s idea of what should be said.

If he did, it is no more a gamble than when he was deemed dead in the water at the early point in the primaries.

I dont care how good a marketing director may be, its hard to sell something that the consumer doesn’t need or desire…so, to answer your question his staff is not the concern…McCain time has come and gone, he should have fought Bush in 2000. Rather than give in, I was a strong supporter of him than, now is not the time.
