Do you think Obama saying McCain can’t send an email as an attack ad is innappropirate?
Obama’s campaign has put out an ad portraying McCain as out of touch due to his inability to use a computer or send an email. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ2I0t_Twk0
For those that don’t know the history, McCain said he can’t operate a computer or send emails in reference to his arms. It is physically painful for him to work at a computer because of the damage done to his arms by the N. Vietnamese.
“McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes.”

How do you think Democrats would react to a Republican running for governor of New York putting out an ad that said the current governor couldn’t see the writing on the wall? (David Paterson is legally blind, for those that don’t know.)
#1 - I happen to be a member of the Constitutional Party, btw. But there’s nothing about my party in the news of interest.
#2 - LMBO - All you that think it’s great to attack McCain over computers - did you know that neither Bill or Hillary Clinton like to use computers either? They’re both very slow typers. Also, Pres. Reagan never used a PC, he always wrote everything by hand, and other world leaders appreciated it because it was more personal.
To the comment about the Bush administration causing the current crisis on Wall Street.
Actually, according the CNN Money comentary on cable yesterday, the current crisis is being caused by the mortgage industry, which is currently in it’s downfall due to easing of mortgage lending rules during the Clinton administration.
Before people start accusing an administration of causing an economic downturn, they really should take Econ 101 and study a bit of the legislation in this country that directly impacts the economy, and how long it takes such legislation’s full impact to be felt in an economy this large.

It’s no more inappropriate than McCain comparing Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

it was a low blow
October 17th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
Yes, very. If he needs a computer, he has an assistant for that. What does that have to do with running the country?
October 18th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
Is it not true?
October 21st, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Well if its true then so be it.

by McCain’s own admission he doesn’t know how to use a computer…the war injury excuse you’re speaking of was never brought up until Karl Rove invented it

It is kinda stupid. I mean, he is 72 (I think). I think the add is trying to appeal to young voters who are definitely in tune with technology.
I think both candidates should stear clear of such advertisements because public opinion on politicians is at an all time low in both parties.
Obama/Biden 2008

It is just an example that he is out of touch. If he wanted to use a computer, then I am sure he could. Even people like Hawking can do it.
But if the ad only depended on that piece of information, it would certainly be absurd. But I know as a Republican you have to lie and distort what Obama is saying, so that is neither here nor there.

To bad Mc Cancer cant use yahoo answers either
October 28th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
i’m not sure if all you have stated is fact.
i do know mccain said he does not know how to use a computer. and i believe the ad is based on that comment.
also, do you agree it is more inappropriate to say obama wants to teach kindergartners *** ed when really he wants them to learn about **********?

This country has real problems.
We need someone who can handle the s**t that will be waiting on his desk on 1/21/09. We need a president of 21st century America, not 20th century.
There are plenty of aids to help disabled people operate a computer. McCain has made a choice in this matter. I believe this decision, by McCain, only adds credence to Obama’s argument.

McCain was a POW? Really???? OMG! His arms don’t hurt when he takes lobbyist money and turns and tells you he doesn’t. Stop being Republican sheep! Be independent thinkers.
November 3rd, 2009 at 1:08 pm
David Patterson has NEVER used his disability as an excuse for anything.
After returning from Vietnam, McCain regained his flight status. Surely if McCain can safely fly an airplane, he can click a mouse.
Let’s not forget that speech recognition software exists for those who are quadriplegics, such as Stephen Hawking:
Face it, McCain has been left behind in the 21st century. He is a bully who thinks that if you say anything enough times the people will believe it. The man is an unconscionable, insane, PTSD affected, egomaniac who actually believes that the majority of Americans are too stupid to see how stupid he is, and unfortunately - he may just be right.
Take your money out of the bank, if you have any, cause it may not be there tomorrow after all the ***** ups of the Republicans actually hit home with Wall Street. It’s gonna be a rocky week.
November 6th, 2009 at 7:38 am
Inappropriate. We should protect McCain and his inability to work in the 21st century. After all, he is a War Hero. He is of fragile mind, and cannot tolerate reality. Refer please to his voting record. He is clueless.
November 8th, 2009 at 1:57 am
yes because unlike Obama, McCain has actually done something to serve our country, because of his bravery and dedication to our country he lost his ability to type, comb his hair and tie his shoes. And how do the selfish democrats repay him? They use his incapabilities to make Obama look better, if it werent for people like McCain, we wouldnt have the right to be on this forum exercising free speech. I say, shame on Obama…
November 9th, 2009 at 10:14 am
president’s don’t send email - they are subpoenable in court….and the way the democrats have been operating lately with their contrived trials…it’s smarter that he doesn’t use email anyways….so - it’s a lame attack….Obama can’t fly a fighter plane nor has he ever been able to - let alone land one on a pitching tossing runway that’s only 200 feet long and moving at 30 miles per hour while flying at 180 miles per hour…..maybe he’s unqualified….
November 10th, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Oh please, you RepubliKKKan’s are such whiners. You dish it but can’t take it. It wasn’t mean, it was the truth.
November 12th, 2009 at 7:06 am
I think it just shows [again] that Obama is not as well educated as his lofty degrees would indicate.
November 14th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
Maybe.
It was definitely alienating.
There are A LOT of elderly people who wouldn’t know how to send an email.
Oh well. :]
November 15th, 2009 at 2:18 am
It’s just stupid!
My dad is well known in the business world for his ability to develop and sell computer software and technology - thing is he doesn’t know how to use a computer himself!
Who cares who does and doesn’t use a computer. I don’t need a president who knows what “LOL” means.
