ive invented several programs and ad campaigns 4 myspace.com without pay or recognition. legal action? I have a very unique situation at hand. i know chris dewolfe personally and have directly emailed him many programming and ad ideas, many of which were implimented within a few weeks of my suggestion. the problem im having is that chris is refusing to even admit that i (a 19 year old average joe 18 pack lol) have created certain things, let alone gave me credit or money for it. there are possible ways of verification through email, but is there any way i can take legal action and be taken seriously?

You can certainly take legal action if it’s true. However, you’d have to show that you expected payment or recognition for your ideas. If you just emailed it to them with no caveats attached, then you just gave them a gift.

you don’t have a legal leg to stand on. if you send something to a place such as myspace and it was unsolicited by them they do have the right to use it and no compensation to the sender. Look carefully at such notices on websites. You should always copywrite your stuff and don’t just send it off to someone thinking you will just get paid.

if you just sent the ideas without some kind of understanding of pay or recognition before sending them, then no

In the US you can do this.
Elsewhere, check with your local Post Master and question about this procedure.
This is a procedure to protect your works known as a Poor Man’s Copyright.
Please note that the “Man” in Poor Man’s Copyright is a genaric man meaning everyone.
Get a Notary Public to sign, date, stamp, and use their Embossed Seal on your work.
Don’t forget to sign and date them yourself when the Notary does or (oops!).
    and/or
Record your compilations and burn them to CD/DvD-ROM.
Pack them in bubble wrap and place them in a large paperboard U.S.P.S.(Logo) envelope.
Mark:(”Fragile”) and (”Hand Sort Only”) on your package. (We don’t want it damaged).
Mail the package to (yourself) from yourself. (Return Address)
Have a Postal clerk weigh the package for proper postage amount.
Send via “Certified” and/or “Registered” mail.
Ask for a “Return Reciept Request”
Ask to Insure the package for X amount of $$$ (Your Call).

Make sure “YOU” are the one who signs all paperwork to recieve your package.
Place your package along with the “Return Reciept” when you recieve it,
in a bank safe deposit box purchased by (”YOU”), Or some other “Secure Place”.
As long as this package is “NEVER” opened:
The Postal Cancilation Date will be legal and binding.
And can be proven by having (ONLY!) a “POST MASTER GENERAL”
inspect and verify that the package has not been tampered with,
which will stand up in a court of law if needed!
    That’s It, You’re Covered.
Now go get a real Copyright!
