Pictures from email to my documents?

I take pictures with my phone and send them to my email. Then I try to send them to “my documents” so I can use them on facebook or whatever, and it always says “That target cannot handle this type of document”. What’s the deal? Is there any other way for me to put my email pics on facebook?

If you have the Facebook app on your phone.. you can directly upload them.. BUT what I do is, email the pic to my email.. SAVE it to my desktop.. (my pics usually turn out in a .bmp format, which Facebook does not accept..) so I open the same pic in paint.. and click File>> Save as>> type in a name and save it as a .JPEG or .GIF or .PNG… I’ve seen that .PNG works best.. because it doesn’t fade the color or mess up the pic like .jpeg or .gif do.. then upload THAT pic onto Facebook… noo need to save in your documents! you can just drag the new pic to your documents and it should be there! hope I helped! :)

Right click the attachment name in the email and select “Save As.” Type a file name for the picture, change the “Save As Type” to JPEG, or GIF (if it doesn’t already say that). Change the location to My Documents.

    OR:

If your email has a “download” link next the the picture, click the “Download” link. Sometimes the files automatically save themselves on my desktop. You can usually find them there, or in My Pictures. They will not have file names that make sense, so you’ll have to preview them to be sure you upload the correct one. You can change file names by right clicking on the file and selecting “Rename”

Then you should be able to upload them to your facebook.

    Hope this helps!

I’m not sure exactly how you are doing it but this might help:

    1. Take picture(s) and email it to yourself.

    2. Take them and save them from your e-mail into a folder you can later locate (example: My Pictures/Cell Pics)

    3. Sign on to Facebook and upload them from that same folder.

This should work unless your phone is saving them into a different format Facebook does not recognize. Also, depending on the kind of phone you have, you may be able to download a Facebook Application for your phone, I know Blackberries and iPhones do.

    Hope this helps.
