Have you or someone you know been targeted online because you’re a feminist? What happened?
Or have you been targeted online because someone thought you were a feminist?
Targeting: Calling you filty names; swearing at you; publicly discussing your appearance or sexual orientation; publicly “sharing” your personal information they’ve gathered about you; publicly (or by email or IM) threatening you with bodily harm, often as a “joke” (hit, slap, beat, rape, death); continuing to contact you after you’ve asked them to stop and have blocked them; publicly sharing personal information about family or friends they have gathered about you; following you in Yahoo forums, or to other forums or blogs and harassing you; using false identities to get access to your questions, answers, blogs, email addresses, personal information; cloning (impersonating) you; targeting your questions and answers to try to humiliate, degrade, and intimidate you and get your id and profiles deleted.

Yes, but nobody can make you feel humiliated or degraded without your permission—I don’t let it get to me because I know who I am and what I am.
Not sure if it’s because I have feminist values or the person(s) simply needing attention—I can certainly see their struggle for power though, so maybe they feel uncomfortable with women taking charge of themselves and situations.

What’s with all these paranoid questions today? Does feminism make you feel that insecure?

No I haven’t - but I don’t suppose it’s any use asking if you did anything bad enough to trigger it? It’s a nasty story but you are here, and have survived. Does anybody here still believe women are feeble and cry a lot?

I and basically all the other feminists here have undergone treatment like that.
