A pro-Israel pressure group is orchestrating a secret, long-term campaign to infiltrate the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia to rewrite Palestinian history, pass off crude propaganda as fact, and take over Wikipedia administrative structures to ensure these changes go either undetected or unchallenged.

A series of emails by members and associates of the pro-Israel group CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America), provided to The Electronic Intifada (EI), indicate the group is engaged in what one activist termed a “war” on Wikipedia

The group has even accused editors and reporters of the Israeli daily Haaretz of being “extreme” and participating in “radical anti-Israel activity.” Jeffrey Dvorkin, the former ombudsman of National Public Radio (NPR), frequently criticized by CAMERA for an alleged pro-Palestinian bias, wrote on the web publication Salon in February 2008 that “as a consequence of its campaign against NPR, CAMERA acted as the enabler for some seriously disturbed people,” citing persistent telephone threats he received in the wake of CAMERA campaigns.

I was wondering if it is illegal to campaign to meet someone, online. I want to meet one of my favorite guitarists, but I can’t just fly to where he is, and hope he lets me in. So I thought I’d have people donate for my travel fund, and then, email Guitar World, Guitar Player, stuff like that, and see if the wordd can get to the person I want to meet. Since I’m not stalking, I’m not meeting the person without their permission, and I’ll state what the donation i sfor, I didn’t think it’d be illegal. Is it?

The organizors of Obama’s camapign disregarded spamming laws and mass emailed (spammed) people who have registered emails addresses on Obama’s website, asking for them to donate money to the Red Cross to aid flood victims.

The problem is that the Red Cross and all other similar agencies are prohibited from doing the same thing, mass emails (spam) requested funds.

Why would a campaign organization intentionally break the law?

And please with the owner’s of Facebook who have earned billions from the website do know the laws and coul probably contribute more than what will be raised and not even notice the money coming out of their bank accounts.

So are we to ignore laws depending on the situation? Should this apply to all laws and who is to decide when it is allowable?
