What if an employer misses an interview?
So I’m applying for a finance staff position on a campaign for the governorship. I had a 2nd interview over the phone at 10AM today, and the person failed to call me. I called the campaign, the receptionist said he was unavailable, and I left a message.
I actually had my 2nd interview scheduled for Monday but he missed that also. I emailed him, and he apologized and rescheduled for today.
Also I think the 1st interview went really well.
Is there something I’m missing in this whole situation?
Should I send him an email or contact him again?

You’re not missing anything, the guy is an A Class Flake to the core. If he’s not the person you would be reporting to, just deal with it. If he is the person you would be reporting to, tread carefully.
He should have at least met with you for five minutes and apologized for the inconvenience. And he should have had a back up interview planned for you.
If they are treating you like this now, it can only get worse. Companies, managers and organizations are all on their best behavior during the interview process.

Maybe something came up and he forgot to have someone call you. Be patient.

Either
a) they decided not to hire you and do not want to tell you, or
b) this is a person who does whatever comes up that is urgent, even if something else is scheduled. If you had an interview scheduled with the President for 6 years ago today (9/11/01), you would expect that he would deal with the emergency all day and not call you. To too many persons, every day is an emergency.
