Airport Security question! What would you personally prefer?

Would you support racial profiling or would you go for behavioral profile point being should government target people based on certain ethnicity or monitor the behavior of individuals regardless of race/gender/age

Racial profiling goes against American ideals and would not be effective. As I see it we have a choice.

Go against our ideals and try to stop the slim chance of a terrorist attack.

    OR

Not go against our ideals and try to stop the slim chance of a terrorist attack.

I’m an avid traveler but I’m about to throw the towel on it if this is what it’s going to take to get anywhere in the future. I’m considering traveling to a middle country and then use my other passport to move around the world just so the US does not know where I’ve been. This “security” thing is getting ridiculous.

So much for the people who say to defend “freedom” but support that we are closely watched every second

Neither, they still let me on the plane with my Bic three days after the Detroit attempt. We should be asking ourselves what companies are putting us in danger like the tobacco companies. What is wrong with having a bowl of match books at the baggage claim for smokers?

No. the people involved, have been every color of psycho. No profiling can work.

Behavior profiling is much more reliable and accurate, so that would be ideal. But since you need to be intuitive and well educated to use it efficiently, it’s not going to become an airport security standard.
Racial profiling is simple and still quite effective, so I’d use that.

I would prefer airport security that didn’t begin and end at the airport. The airport is the wrong place to be identifying terrorists. They should be identified before they ever get to an airport, making it easier for airport security to stop them.

  13. DOC Says:

One problem with airport security, is that most of the security agents are about on the same level as prison guards and mall rent-a-cops. The want to bluster and push people around to make themselves feel more important. We need smarter, more professional security personnel, who can recognize when someone acts incorrectly or looks wrong. Most of them now just want to punch the timeclock, follow their list of procedures, and avoid as much work as they can.

  14. zzone Says:

They can profile me all they want, I do not have a damn thing to hide, so why would I be afraid to be profiled. I saw do what ever is necessary to protect the people, and when a terrorist is caught, eliminate him , period. like dead, that way he want do it again,.

  15. ShaneC Says:

They should monitor anyone who has spent time in a terrorist infested country, regardless of race!

  16. Loghansmom Says:

I beleive it is best to use all of your senses when you are trying to protect yourself.

I do not favor profiling based soley based on race but race it a component that cannot be ignored for political correctness’ sake.

So the answer is all of the above.
